Hello everyone,
This is truly a proud moment for me.
Receiving recognition for Puriyatha Puthir at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards is something that I am deeply grateful for. When we started this film, the intention was never about awards or recognition. It was about telling a story that we believed in.
Puriyatha Puthir was always a different kind of film. It explored themes of trust, relationships, and human psychology in a way that is not very common in mainstream Tamil cinema. Taking that path came with its own challenges, but it also made the journey meaningful.
Today, this recognition feels special because it acknowledges that content-driven cinema has its place.
I would like to sincerely thank M. K. Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin for recognising and encouraging films like ours. Support like this gives confidence to filmmakers and producers who want to back meaningful and unconventional stories.
More than anything, this film belongs to the team.
Working with Vijay Sethupathi was a memorable experience. His commitment and approach to the character added depth and authenticity to the film. He has always been someone who brings honesty into his performances, and that made a big difference.
The music by Sam C. S. also played a very important role. In a psychological thriller like this, music is not just an addition – it becomes part of the storytelling. His work helped build the mood and intensity of the film.
Looking back, Puriyatha Puthir was not just a project. It was a journey of belief. There were moments of doubt, challenges during production, and questions about how the film would be received. But those are part of any film that tries to do something different.
This award is not just a recognition of the film, but also a reminder that audiences and institutions continue to value sincerity and effort in storytelling.
As someone who believes in backing strong and meaningful content, this moment encourages me to continue on that path. There are many more stories to tell, and this gives me the confidence to pursue them.
At the end of the day, cinema is about connection. If a film can stay with people even after they leave the theatre, then it has done something right.
I am thankful for this recognition, and even more thankful for the journey.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Puriyatha Puthir.
