But the more I learn about Kalaignar, the more I feel that his legacy extends far beyond politics.

When I think about him, I don’t immediately think about elections or governments. I think about ideas. I think about words. I think about the influence one individual can have on an entire society through writing, communication, and an unwavering commitment to public service.

That is what makes Kalaignar unique.

Long before he became one of Tamil Nadu’s most influential political leaders, he was a writer. Through literature, cinema, journalism, and public speeches, he connected with millions of people.
